Custom Knife, Damascus Knife

Experior is a double edged sword cane of unique design. Standing 41 inches tall and sheathed in a cane of Cocobola and Zebra wood the 19 3/4 inch damascus blade carries a unique twist and counter-twist pattern. The exterior fittings are twist damascus and the hilt is fluted Oosic and Mastodon Ivory. The blade of Experior was formed from 1084, 1045 and 15N20. The material was first twisted right and then twisted left with no space left between the twists. The resulting effect was a pattern which reversed itself abruptly in a series of "Cs". The pommel nut and guard face have inset into them round pieces of mosaic damascus and the butt cap is carved twist damascus.

Perhaps the most unique feature of Experior is its locking mechanism. Instead of a more traditional button or friction lock Experior uses a lock ring with dual ramps which lock onto twin posts set into the guard. A short easy twist and the blade is ready to unsheath. The lock ring is set with rubies and a careful examination will uncover that one ruby has been set lower than the others. This ruby acts as an aid in the proper orientation of the sword prior to unsheathing; so that Experior will be immediately ready for use.

Welcome to Kain Designs custom knife creations. To enter my main site please

click HERE or select the Kain Designs banner below. This site is devoted to forging a better

understanding of art knives, folders, swords, bladesmithing, forge welding, custom knives,

damascus and many other unique and stylized designs. On my site you will see custom knives

such as Witch, Sorceress and Ras al-Ghul using exotic materials such as damascus, mokume

and pearl. These knives will range from unique fixed blades to manual and automatic folding

knives. Many of my knives are designed around myths from various backgrounds - such as

Celtic (knives like Bane Shide), or Egyptian cultures (with knives such as Ammut). The knives

are carefully hand crafted pieces of carving and sculpture. The damascus is custom forged for

each folder and often I will use mosaic damascus and pearl inlays in my pieces.
