Hiiet
is clad in a special mosaic damascus body inlayed with a total of 8 black
lip pearl ovals. The pearl inlays have been cut into cabochons, giving
them greater luminosity and color play. The mosaic damascus grips must
been seen to be fully appreciated; individual cells pebble a surface swept
throughout with ribbons of brightly flashing blue steel while droplets
of nickle splash here and there.Hiiet's pivot pin is inlayed with two
black lip pearl rounds, again cut into cabochons to enhance the color
and clarity of the pearl. As well as improving the fire of the pearl this
process also creates a wonderful tactile feel in the hand.Hiiet's back
spacer and lockbar are of ladder pattern damascus and have been fileworked.
The lockbar has been shaped into a dorsal spine that raises above the
body of the knife, making unlocking a smooth and easy experience.
The blade on Hiiet is from a Delbert Ealy 7 bar composite damscus. The
tightly patterned blade contains bars of ladder, star twist and even a
central bar of moasic damascus. As usual with my manual DarkLight knives
Hiiet has a thumbstud shaped into an eye and carrying an inlayed pupil
of abalone.
