Currently I'm developing two distinct types of art
knife in an effort to examine myths from
various cultures of this world. The DarkLight and
Mystic series each explore different aspects of
mythology; the DarkLight knives are art folders
which explore the darker and stranger myths
woven throughout our past. In each of these folders
one can see a specific myth recreated in
exotic and unique materials which, in my opinion,
reflect the nature of the myth.
The Mystic knives are fixed art knives, each designed
to explore one of the myths of mystic - or
magic using beings. Each knife is crafted with rare
and exotic materials into a unique form -
designed to illustrate characteristics of the myth
it is based on. On my site you will find knives
such as Witch and Pooka; these knives are strong
representatives of my art.
In forging these myths into the metals of my art
I hope to develop, and illustrate, a better
understanding of the myths nature, origins and creators
Each art knife is a unique design; a
design which will not be repeated by me again. All
the DarkLight knives will be folders; some
manual, some automatic in design. All the Mystic
knives will be fixed blades; some dagger, other single
edged. Each custom knife will be hand made; forged
art with pearl inlays and unique exotic materials
such as Mokume and mosaic damascus.
